Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Core smartphone. The Galaxy Core is a mid-range device and comes with optional dual-SIM support.

Other features include 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4.3-inch WVGA (800 x 480) resolution TFT LCD, 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, VGA front camera, 8GB internal memory with microSD card slot, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS, 1,800mAh battery and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The dual-SIM variant of the Galaxy Core will go on sale this month and the single-SIM variant will go on sale in July. Availability depends upon the market.

Samsung announced a brand new 7″ Android tablet, dubbed Galaxy Tab 3 7.0. It brings the now familiar S4 styling (just like its 8″ cousin) and comes in Wi-Fi and 3G versions, with the 3G one being fully voice call capable. It even adds a proximity sensor, you know, if you want to put up the tablet up to your head.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 is also noticeably more compact and lighter (188.0 x 111.1 x 9.9mm, 306g) than the Tab 2 7.0 (193.7 x 122.4 x 10.5 mm, 345g) and Tab 7.0 Plus (193.7 x 122.4 x 9.9 mm, 345g).

Other than that it’s very hard to tell what’s changed – the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 still uses a 7” WSVGA (600 x 1024) TFT screen, a dual-core 1.2HGz processor with 1GB of RAM, has 8/16GB of built-in storage (expandable via the microSD card slot), dual-band Wi-F a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and a 4,000mAh battery

Yes, the Tab 3 7.0 does launch with a newer version of Android, but it’s 4.1, so not even catching up to the Galaxy Megas.

Anyway, Samsung will begin to gradually roll out the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 globally in the beginning of May for the Wi-Fi version and in June for the 3G version.

Samsung GALAXY S4 Official Promo First Features Hands-on Video

USA’s T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon won’t have the Galaxy S4 stock as scheduled. As it seems Samsung can’t manufacture enough units of its flagship to cope with the demand.

That’s right, the unexpected global demand for the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the reason why some US carriers (and probably other markets too) will premiere the flagship with a few weeks delay.

Sprint and T-Mobile have already confirmed the Samsung Galaxy S4 launch will be indeed be pushed back. T-Mobile pushed back the Galaxy S4 per-order campaign from April 24 to April 29, while Sprint is moving the sales start from April 27 to a later date that is yet to be disclosed. The Galaxy S4 will only hit the retail stores of the two carriers once all the online pre-orders are fulfilled.

Finally, Verizon has confirmed it will be only start offering the Samsung Galaxy S4 on May 30, a full month later after the initial end of April deadline set by Samsung.

It’s unclear if the Galaxy S4 was so overwhelming that it got even Samsung by surprise, or if the Koreans experienced some issues with the production. We’ll know for sure when we get the official sales numbers.

The Samsung Galaxy Win was announced last week as a China exclusive, but today the company announced it’s going to be making the mid-ranger available globally.

The smartphone runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, packs a 4.7” TFT screen of WVGA resolution (199ppi pixel density). It has a 5MP camera that shoots D1 video, a 0.3MP front-facing camera and a microSD card slot. The battery has 2,000mAh capacity.

Available in two color variants – Ceramic White and Titan Gray – the Galaxy Win will be hitting multiple markets in single-SIM and dual-SIM versions. Pricing and availability, however, are still undisclosed by Samsung.

Samsung is all set to introduce a new series of “Galaxy Mega” smartphones and the detailed specifications of the first of those have surfaced online.

According to a report from SamMobile, the Galaxy Mega 5.8, which is codenamed as GT-I9152 will be a Dual-SIM phablet. The Galaxy Mega will sport a 5.8″ qHD display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and will measure 164 x 83.8 x 9.7mm. The device will feature a 1.4 GHz Dual-core processor with 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front shooter.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 will come with the latest connectivity options, which include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 80211 a/b/g/n and GPS support. The upcoming phablet will be powered by Android 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and as usual Samsung will be preinstalling its own UNature X on top of that. The juice for the phablet is coming from a 2,600mAh battery.

The 5.3-inch Samsung Galaxy Note will be arriving at Rogers, Bell and TELUS on February 14th – a lovely day for a new LTE-enabled device. We found out last week that Bell, via The Source, will be releasing this phone/tablet for $729.99. The only other known price was a fluctuating 3-year that Best Buy has on their pre-order site (ranged between $199 and $299).

The Rogers doc (pictured above) shows them coming in with the lowest no-term price of $699.99, followed by the 1-year contract price of $649.99; 2-year of $599.99 and a 3-year term of $199.99. As for Bell, the no-term is $729.95 and the 3-year contract promo price is $199.99.
